When James receives an unexpected letter from his lost wife, he sets off to find her in "their special place," a trip that quickly turns into a waking nightmare of twisted monsters.
Struggling with long-term depression after losing his wife, Mary, James Sunderland receives a late letter from her, and sets out to find her in their "special place."
Coming to a literal roadblock, James is forced on a detour down a hiking trail to get to the sleepy town of SILENT HILL. Along this overgrown, less-trod trail, James takes a tumble, injuring himself while simultaneously becoming stranded in the haunted ghost-town of the vacation spot he once knew. While exploring the town that writhes with nightmarish monsters, he encounters Angela Orosco, a flighty, angry young woman searching for her mother; Eddie Dombrowski, a troubled young man with a sketchy past; and an impish little girl that seems content without adult supervision, and intent on tormenting James about his wife and his choices in life. Wandering the boardwalk, searching for Mary, James runs into Maria, a woman that looks and sounds just like his long lost wife, a harsh reminder of what he came to town for.
He and Maria team up to combat the monstrosities that lurk behind every foggy corner, as James follows clues all over town that lead him to face his worst fears, and to discover the truth about Mary.
