A meticulous London pathologist named Missy—secretly a Reaper built by Grim—pushes back against his edict to avoid human bonds as impossible deaths ripple through the city. When reflections begin to lag and smile back, Missy and her steadfast assistant Lucas trace the pattern to a derelict theater famed for its mirrors, suspecting a fear-fed entity that moves through glass and water and may be a splinter of Missy herself.
