BARE HANDS, BARE FEET tells the story of Jane, a single mother in her 40s who is also a lifelong martial artist and owner of her own dojo. Our story begins when a local police detective asks her for help mentoring MARY, a 19-year-old stranger in town who has just attempted suicide for an unknown reason. Mary is at first reluctant to cooperate with Jane, thinking her to be an unrealistic do-gooder with inflated ideas of what a woman can do to defend herself... until Jane rescues Mary from a possible rape by beating four drunken frat guys to a pulp without taking a single punch. Jane then convinces Mary to testify against her attackers, sending them to prison once they are finally released from the hospital. With Jane now having earned her trust, Mary agrees to tell the secret of what happened to her... and that is where our story really begins!
