This script follows Lester, a meek and disillusioned office worker, who, after a promotion-sparking accident, embraces a new life of corporate ambition. Manipulated by his senior partner, Harris, Lester orchestrates a series of "accidents" to eliminate rivals and climb the corporate ladder, all while his pregnant wife Susan and a quietly observant co-worker named Penelope begin to uncover his dark secrets. As Lester becomes more arrogant and powerful, he loses sight of his original motivations, leading to a tense, psychological game of cat and mouse that culminates in his public betrayal by Harris and a frantic, humiliating chase through the city streets. The story ends with Lester, stripped of his ego and power, facing a lonely and pathetic downfall, a prisoner of the very corporate system he tried to master.
