In the heart of Los Angeles, Jose Hernandez, a hardworking immigrant, celebrates the birth of his first child, believing he has finally secured a future for his family. As he walks through his neighborhood, the love and support from his community reinforce his faith in the American dream. But that dream is shattered when ICE agents abruptly detain him outside the deli where he works. Stripped from his family, Jose is forced onto a deportation bus, leaving his wife, Adriana, to fight for justice and their future. As the neighborhood reels from his absence, Adriana transforms her grief into action, stepping up as a voice for those who can no longer speak.

Through Mr. Jones’ powerful closing speech, the film explores the human cost of immigration policies, asking a haunting question: Is America still beautiful?
