The story of William Marshall is one born into a brutal time in English history. From standing with a noose around his neck for his father betraying King Stephen to unhorsing Richard the Lionheart in single combat. His military prowess was unmatched in the medieval world and drew him into close connection with Five English Kings. This true story covers a period when much of France belonged to the English and a time of constant warfare both within Europe and those who fought in the Crusades. His was a unique life and without him, English and European history would certainly have changed.
