This version of the Wizard of Oz, seems like the classic 1939 version but without the development at the beginning to set up what is happening, it seems kinda rushed with no character development at the beginning whatsoever. And it also uses the same songs as the original, this further makes it seems that it's basically a copy. BUT it's a copy with an twist of it's own. This is also written not as a screenplay but as a production for a stage musical, but the way that the characters interact with each other seems to be on point with original and what we already know from previous adaptations of the book. But as for Dorothy, she seems a little one dimensional. she just wants to get home. There is no sense of anything else like a struggle or a problem, she just wants to go home. This dampens the story. But the thing is, when it comes to do a adaptation of a classic film, like the Wizard of Oz it needs to be something unique that has not been done before, like how Christopher Nolen created the tone of Batman. There are also no scene headings, which will mean that it's just one continuous screen. Like with the Scarecrow, Tin-Man and the Lion, there is nothing to them, expect there wishes. I would recommend that you read some musical scripts and rewrite this screenplay as I feel like it can be a lot more than just a rewrite and reworking of the original, but a more updated and modern take with it's own identity. I would also say to use a professional screenplay software like Writerduet, Final draft. I would love to say something positive about this screenplay but the only thing can I say is the dialogue just flows between the characters. Don't give up, as I've got a feeling that this can be something more.
